Film Screening and Conversation with Angela Su
Asia Art Archive in America is thrilled to host a screening and conversation with artist Angela Su and AAAinA’s Manager of Programs and Collections, Claire Kim. This event serves as an additional touch point for the Angela Su: Melencolia exhibition.
The program features three short films–Methods of Art (2017), The Afterlife of Rosy Leavers (2017) and This Is Not A Game (2021)–two of which will not be on view in the exhibition. The films are all subtly connected to each other with recurring characters. The screening is followed by a conversation about the major themes in Su’s practice including notions of social control, perceptions of reality, and reimaginings of historical narratives.
