Thoughts can potentially emerge from unexpected places: dreams, sights, rhythms, conversations. In the spirit of the unexpected, join us for a far-reaching discussion that considers the works of Zarina and Naiza Khan and the role of chance that is central to the exhibition, Mapping Otherwise.
Jane DeBevoise is the Director of the Asia Art Archive in America.
Naiza Khan is a visual artist whose multi-disciplinary practice is built on a process of critical research, documentation and mapping-based exploration. Her work looks at geography as a heterogeneous assemblage of power, colonial history and collective memory.
Katherine Duxiaole Zhang is a 2026 MODA Curates fellow and the curator of Mapping Otherwise. Her current thinking revolves around the political efficacy of sensorial objects, particularly their mediatory function upon consciousness.
