Sin Autorización

Gwen A. Unger and Abel González Fernández, Editors

Sin Autorización, a bilingual seven-part newspaper broadsheet set was published in conjunction with the eponymous exhibition.

The publication, like the exhibition, explores the political and intellectual context of the Cuban contemporary art production that emerged during President Obama’s second term and its many changes in the years following. Sin Autorización is curated by Gwen A. Unger, Doctoral Candidate, Dept. of Art History & Archaeology, Columbia University, and Abel González Fernández, Independent Curator.

The innovative format by designers Lucinda Hitchock and Cara Buzzel recalls the spirit and urgency of the artist-led movement that underscores Sin Autorización.
