MODA Curates 2026

MODA Curates is an annual opportunity offered by The Miriam and Ira D. Wallach Art Gallery and the MA in Modern and Contemporary Art: Critical and Curatorial Studies Program for outstanding curatorial proposals related to students’ theses.

The selected projects for 2026 include the following:

Skins, Not Our Own curated by Summer Park brings together Heidi Bucher, Kimsooja, and Rebecca Horn—three artists who peel away, bundle up, or extend the body in ways that unsettle how we see ourselves.

Mapping Otherwise: Between the Ocean and the Sky curated by Katherine Duxiaole Zhang comprises work by Zarina Hashmi (b. Aligarh, India, 1937) and Naiza Khan (b. Bahawalpur, Pakistan, 1968) organized into three sections – Land, Ocean, and Sky – that map and make the world through methods unbound by scientific cartography.
